Starters

Salads


(v) Ginger Salad, $7.50
This unique salad is comprised of cured shredded ginger, toasted yellow split peas, fava beans, peanuts and coconut chips mixed with onions, cabbage and ground, dried shrimp. Tossed in garlic oil, and lemon juice. The ingredients are basic, and down to earth, yet the combination has been known to bring raptures of joy. This salad is best with wine, beer or tea.
(v) Green Tea Salad, $7.50
Similar to the Ginger Salad, this one of a kind salad is comprised of ground, dried shrimp cured tea leaves, beans, nuts and vegetables. Cured tea leaves have a special flavor not unlike that of smoked grape leaves or hearts of artichoke. It leaves a slight bittersweet taste on the palate. This dish is an acquired taste, for the adventurous.
(v) Green Papaya Salad, $8.50
Papaya trees are everywhere in Burma. Green or unripe papaya is eaten as a vegetable while ripe papaya is eaten as a fruit. Shredded papaya in this dish is mixed with ground dried shrimp, onions, and fried garlic. Tossed in garlic oil, lemon juice, and a little hot chili pepper. This wonderful salad is simple, home grown and healthy.
(v) Green Mango Salad - seasonal, $8.50
Like papaya, mango trees are abundant in Burma. The ingredients are the same as the Green Papaya Salad except, of course, shredded green mango is substituted. This exotic salad is only available seasonally.
(v) Tomato Salad, $7.50
The ingredients are simple-tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, onion, carrots, chili flakes, garlic, lemon juice and ground dried shrimp-yet the flavor are uniquely Burmese.
Jumbo Prawn Salad, $8.50
This wonderful salad consists of jumbo prawns, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, onion, carrots, chili flakes, garlic, lemon juice, and ground shrimp.
Salmon Stuffed Salad, $8.50
Fresh salmon marinated in garlic oil and lemon juice mixed with chopped onions and chili. Stuffed in two large tomatoes.
(v) Mango Noodle Salad - seasonal, $8.50
This delightful noodle salad dish is created by Chef Chu with mango slices, lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, onions, noodles and ground shrimp tossed in garlic oil and lemon juice.
Burmese Chicken Salad, $7.50
Shredded chicken meat marinated in lemon juice, chili, and garlic oil and served on greens with Burmese dressing.

Soups


Fish Noodle Soup, $7.50
This is one of the famous soups in Burma. This is also one of the most popular. So much so that it is eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Actually, it is fish chowder with noodles. The broth is prepared with spices such as ginger root, lemongrass, garlic, onion, and turmeric. Fried onions and slices of egg accompany this soup.
Chicken Noodle Soup, $7.50
Like the Fish Noodle Soup, this is another popular soup that is eaten all the times of the day. It consists of chicken broth cooked with ginger, garlic, onion, turmeric and coconut milk. Fried onions and slices of egg accompany this soup.
(v) Hot and Sour Soup, $7.50
This is an appetite-whetting soup. It is prepared with spinach, bamboo shoots, prawns and tomatoes in a broth. Vinegar, hot chili pepper, lemon grass, ginger, lemon and dried ground shrimp are added to spice it up. One is tempted to eat it with rice.
(v) Garlic and Pepper Squash Soup, $7.00
This light and clear broth, both garlicky and peppery, is a soup prepared with tropical squash, clear bean noodles, mushrooms, cloud ear, and dried ground shrimp.
(v) Yellow Split Pea Tomato Soup, $7.00
Yellow split pea soup and tomatoes combined with onions and a slight touch of turmeric.


Main Dishes

Burmese Special Dishes with Vegetables



Most Burmese vegetable dishes are not entirely vegetarian but are predominately prepared with vegetables.
These dishes are usually made with curry, ground dried shrimp, fish sauce, and chili pepper.
(V) Spinach and Bamboo Shoots with Prawns, $9.95
Spinach and julienne bamboo shoots sautéed in a light curry with jumbo prawns, tamarind, garlic and onion.
(V) Spinach and Tomatoes, $8.75
Spinach and tomatoes sautéed in a light curry with garlic, onion, and tamarind.
Okra with Prawns, $9.95
Okra and prawns sautéed with curry, garlic, onions and bell pepper.
Eggplant with Ground Pork, $9.00
Eggplant and ground pork dry seared with garlic, onions and chili.
Tofu with Ground Shrimp, $9.00
Tofu slices dry stir-fried with onion, ground shrimp, chili pepper, carrot and red curry powder.
(V) Curried Smoked Eggplant, $9.50
Seared eggplant, onions, garlic, and chili peppers are dry stir-fried with a light touch of red curry powder.
(V) Curried Okra, $9.50
Okra, onions, garlic and bell peppers sautéed with a light touch of curry.
(V) Curried Squash, Daikon, Cabbage and Tomato, $9.50
Squash, daikon radish, okra, eggplant, cabbage, tomatoes, onions, garlic and chili peppers stir fried with a light touch of curry and tamarind.
(V) Stir-Fried Tofu, Bean Sprout and Bell Peppers, $9.50
Tofu, mung bean sprouts, red and green bell peppers are stir-fried with garlic and onions.
(V) Stir-Fried Jicama, Cloud Ears, Mushrooms and Snow Peas, $9.50
Jicama, cloud ears, mushrooms, and snow peas are stir-fried with garlic. Cloud ears are related to the mushroom family. Its thin and crunchy consistency is a perfect compliment to the other ingredients.

Fish Curry, $15.95
Seasonal fish prepared in our own recipe of curry mixture (for fish) with ginger, tomatoes, garlic onion, lemongrass, and tamarind. Served with rice and salad.
Prawn Curry, $15.50
Jumbo prawns sautéed in our own recipe of curry mixture (for prawns) with garlic, ginger, onion, tomatoes and tamarind. Served with rice and salad.
Mango Prawns (Seasonal), $14.50
Fresh mango slices stir-fried with prawns, and sautéed mushroom, bell peppers and onions, in a light garlic sauce.
Lamb Curry, $15.50
Choice lamb cubes sautéed in our own recipe of curry mixture (for lamb) with potatoes, ginger, garlic, onion, and lemongrass. Served with rice and salad.
Beef Curry, $14.50
Choice beef slow cooked in our own recipe of curry mixture (for beef) with potatoes, ginger, garlic, onions, and cinnamon. Served with rice and salad.
Chicken Curry, $13.95
Chicken breast sautéed in our own recipe of curry mixture (for chicken) with potatoes, coconut milk, ginger, garlic and onion. Served with rice and salad.
Seafood and Vegetable Combination, $14.95
Scallops, jumbo prawns, smoked mussels, fish balls, radish, okra, squash, eggplant, cabbage, and tomatoes sautéed in our own mixture with garlic, onion, ginger, tamarind, and cilantro. Served with rice.
